CO: Changes in NCLB ratings affect Colorado schools

The way that No Child Left Behind regulations measure the Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) of schools changed this year. While the number of students scoring proficient on the Colorado State Assessment Program (CSAP) remained stable from last year, the new regulations require that the number of students scoring proficient increases each year. This meant that the percent of Colorado schools meeting AYP dropped to 60% from 75%.
