Test industry split over 'formative' assessment

With experts, within and outside of the testing industry, believing that truly 'formative' assessments should blend seamlessly into classroom instruction itself, the debate remains over what are legitimate formative assessment products.  In addition, the testing industry is currently viewing this as the fastest-growing segment in the market.
