NY: New group hopes to bring the "rigor of research and development" to education

New effort aims to test theories of education

A new initiative called the Educational Innovation Laboratory, founded by billionaire philanthropist Eli Broad and lead by the former part-time chief equality officer of the New York City public schools, hopes to team economists, marketers, and others interested in bringing the data-driven approach common in science to educational research.
