CO: Department of education focuses on closing the achievement gap

Colorado's Department of Education appointed Anita Foxworth to help coordinate efforts to reduce achievement gaps between affluent and poor students around the state. The state legislature also approved a $2.2 million budget increase for the Department of Education to fund pilot projects in six districts and the hiring of content experts.
